Jaipur : A bomb threat was received on Wednesday morning at the Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan (SKIT) located in Jagatpura, Jaipur. Panic spread across the campus after a threatening email was received. The college administration evacuated all students and staff from the premises as a precaution.
Upon receiving the information, police, fire brigade teams, and the bomb disposal squad, along with other security agencies, reached the spot and began a thorough search operation across the campus.
The email claimed that RDX explosives had been planted in the college and would detonate at a specified time. As a safety measure, the campus was completely vacated, and every building and sensitive area is being carefully inspected.
Police officials stated that no suspicious object has been confirmed so far, but the search operation is ongoing as a precaution. Efforts are also underway to trace the identity and location of the person who sent the threatening email.
The email, reportedly sent in the name of “Balochistan Tigers DMK IT Wing” to the college principal, claimed that six RDX bombs would explode at exactly 11:45 AM at the engineering college and included a communal remark instructing that only Muslim terrorists be evacuated.
The email stated:
“Respected Principal, constables in Tamil Nadu are being forced to clean the clothes and dirty utensils of DMK workers. Many have faced humiliation and misbehavior. That is why your college has been targeted today — to make a statement against this practice and to ensure that the 1979 union recommendations for constables in Tamil Nadu are implemented. We have no other way to make our demands heard. Sorry.
Here is how it will explode: 19 RDX IEDs made using C-4/RDX have been placed at important locations. During lunch time, one or two members will come near the Registrar and Principal’s office with a remote-control trigger, and the IEDs will detonate automatically.
If for any reason they do not activate, they will come within 100 feet of the building and blow themselves up inside along with all the staff, similar to a Sri Lankan-style suicide operation. With so many students, your college is currently the easiest target. We take responsibility and want our voice heard at any cost.”
