Haridwar: Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, on Saturday extended a warm welcome to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on his arrival in the state.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister praised Shah’s leadership and his contribution to national security and development. Dhami wrote, “Heartfelt welcome and congratulations to the respected Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri @AmitShah ji on his arrival in the sacred land of Uttarakhand, the land of brave soldiers. Your leadership, dedicated to the nation’s security, good governance, and development, has given the country new direction and strength.”
Earlier in the day, Dhami reviewed preparations for Shah’s visit to Haridwar, where the Home Minister is scheduled to address a public rally and visit exhibitions highlighting national security initiatives and recent legal reforms. The Chief Minister said all arrangements for the high-profile event had been completed.
Speaking to reporters, Dhami said, “Preparations have been made for Home Minister Amit Shah’s public rally. Two major exhibitions have been set up in Haridwar for his visit. One exhibition will demonstrate provisions introduced by the Government of India to ensure citizens’ safety and to speed up the delivery of justice. After the Home Minister’s arrival, one of the venues will remain open to the public for the next week.”
On Friday, the Chief Minister visited Haridwar to inspect arrangements for the programme titled “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar: Char Saal Bemisaal”, scheduled for March 7, and directed officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Amit Shah is also set to participate in the programme. The administration has completed preparations, and the city of Haridwar — including the event venue at Bairagi Camp — has been decorated to welcome him.
Earlier this week, Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence to review preparations for Shah’s proposed visit to Haridwar on March 7.
