Iran denied attacking Türkiye, Cyprus and Azerbaijan; Iran’s new Supreme Leader injured in Israeli attack
Tel Aviv : Iran has said that it is fighting the war out of compulsion, not by choice. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said during a press briefing on Monday that the war has been imposed on the country.
When he was asked about the possibility of mediation for a ceasefire, he said that it would be wrong to talk about such things at the moment. Baghaei stated that military confrontation is ongoing, and in such a situation it would not be appropriate to discuss anything other than defending the country.
He said that Iran did not start this war. According to him, the country is being forced to fight in order to defend itself. He also denied carrying out attacks on Türkiye, Cyprus, and Azerbaijan. He said that no attacks had been launched from Iranian territory toward these countries last week.
Meanwhile, The Times of Israel reported that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been injured. He had been declared Iran’s new Supreme Leader last night.
