New Delhi : In the alleged Delhi liquor policy case, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has faced another significant setback. The court has clarified that the case will continue to be heard by Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma.
The Aam Aadmi Party had previously raised objections regarding the judge and alleged bias, requesting the case be transferred to a different bench. However, the court’s decision confirms that Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma will continue to preside over the hearings.
During the proceedings, Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay of the Delhi High Court stated that according to the current roster, the case has been assigned to Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma, and there is no administrative reason to transfer it to another bench.
He further clarified that if Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma herself wishes to recuse from the case, it will be entirely within her discretion.
