Jaipur : Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on the eve of Rajasthan Diwas unveiled the pictorial digital vision of the ambitious ‘Rajasthan Mandapam’ project and its allied infrastructure during an event held at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur.
Planned near Jaipur International Airport, the mega project will be developed over more than 90 acres with a total built-up area exceeding 94.53 lakh square feet. The master plan envisions a large mixed-use ecosystem integrating business, tourism, culture, and leisure.
At the core of the project is a world-class convention centre spanning over 9 lakh sq. ft., designed to host international events, exhibitions, and cultural programmes. It will feature multiple auditoria, including the grand Padam Mandap with a seating capacity of around 6,500 people, along with other halls such as Swarn, Tulsi, and Kadam Mandaps, banquet facilities, meeting spaces, and a modern concert arena.
The project also includes expansive expo halls, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), IT/ITES office spaces, hotels, retail and residential zones, a Natural History Museum, a fintech plaza, and the proposed Unity Mall. A key highlight is the planned development of vibrant public spaces along the Dravyawati riverfront, combining ecological restoration with recreational and cultural activities.
Officials said the project places strong emphasis on sustainable, climate-responsive design, seamless connectivity, pedestrian-friendly spaces, and long-term urban resilience. Adequate parking infrastructure covering around 32.5 lakh sq. ft. is also part of the plan.
The development is being undertaken by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), with execution by NBCC (India) Limited through a self-financing model aimed at ensuring financial sustainability and transparency. The total project cost is estimated at over ₹5,800 crore.
NBCC is expected to float tenders in April, marking the transition from planning to execution. Officials expressed confidence that the project will be delivered with high standards of quality and efficiency.
The unveiling presentation received an enthusiastic response from the audience, who praised the scale and transformative potential of the initiative. Several senior leaders and officials, including Rajyavardhan Rathore, were present at the event.
The Rajasthan Mandapam project is expected to redefine Jaipur’s urban landscape and position the city as a major global hub for conventions, business, tourism, and cultural exchange.
