Bharatpur : President of India Droupadi Murmu on Saturday performed the sacred parikrama of Giriraj Maharaj. She was received on her arrival from Uttar Pradesh into Rajasthan by Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham.
During her visit, the President undertook the parikrama on foot at the request of Jawahar Singh Bedham. She was also briefed on ongoing development projects worth crores being carried out under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The President attended cultural programmes of the Braj region, where she interacted with artists and posed for photographs. On entering the Rajasthan border, she was welcomed with a vibrant performance by renowned Braj peacock folk dancers, whose presentations left her visibly delighted.
She appreciated and encouraged the artists during the event. Divisional Commissioner Nalini Kathotia, Inspector General of Police Kailash Chandra Vishnoi, Deeg District Collector Utsav Kaushal, Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath Kamble, Bharatpur Development Authority Commissioner Kanishk Kataria, and Zila Parishad CEO Mridul Singh were among the officials present.
