New Delhi / Thiruvananthapuram / Guwahati / Kolkata / Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA is set to secure a third consecutive victory in Assam. Addressing a rally in Gogamukh, Dhemaji, he took an indirect swipe at Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress “so-called prince” is heading toward a “century of defeats.”
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, speaking at a rally in Birbhum, accused the BJP of “looting public money and spreading lies.” She also criticized the party’s activities during Ram Navami, alleging that its supporters take out armed processions.
In Assam’s Dibrugarh, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the state government, calling it a “double-engine government of corruption.” She alleged that governance in the state is driven by threats and claimed the presence of “mafia and syndicate rule.”
Separately, Mamata Banerjee’s helicopter was unable to land in Nabagram, Murshidabad, due to खराब weather conditions. Strong winds and a sudden storm forced the aircraft to return to Burwan. According to officials, weather conditions deteriorated around 2:10 PM, making landing unsafe.
Banerjee later proceeded to Nabagram by road to address a scheduled election rally. Earlier, she had addressed a public meeting in Burwan before heading toward her next program.
