Mumbai : Actor Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that he will be seen playing not just Lord Ram but also Lord Parshuram in the upcoming film Ramayana, taking on two spiritually significant yet contrasting characters.
In an interview with Collider in Los Angeles, Ranbir was asked how he differentiated between the two roles through body language and voice. He explained that both Lord Ram and Parshuram are incarnations of Lord Vishnu, with Parshuram preceding Ram, and portraying them required a deep understanding of their distinct personalities.
Ranbir said that playing Lord Ram was already a huge honor, but getting the opportunity to also portray Lord Parshuram made the experience even more special for him. He emphasized that acting goes beyond physical expression, requiring an actor to connect deeply with the emotional and spiritual essence of the character.
The actor revealed that he spent nearly a year preparing for these roles before filming began. He focused on understanding the characters’ mindset, purpose, and philosophical depth to bring authenticity to his performance.
Ranbir also shared a personal anecdote, saying he feels fortunate to be part of Ramayana at a time when he had just become a father. He mentioned that he often narrated stories from the epic to his young daughter, which helped him connect even more with the role.
He added that his daughter showed curiosity about the characters, often asking whether he had filmed scenes with Hanuman or Sita, reflecting her growing interest in the epic.
