During a run with young participants in Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma told the youth that they had endured very difficult times over the past five years but should now prepare for new opportunities and progress ahead.
Jaipur : On the occasion of Rajasthan Day, the Viksit Rajasthan Run 2026 was held across the state on Sunday, including in the capital city, Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the event by flagging it off. The run witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of young people, athletes, and citizens.
Addressing the youth at the event, the Chief Minister said that young people had faced several challenges over the past five years. However, he claimed that during the last two and a quarter years, his government has taken strict action against those responsible for injustice toward the youth, even sending many to jail. He also stated that recruitment processes have been made more transparent, and the government is focusing not only on providing employment but also on empowering young people to become job creators.
According to the Chief Minister, the state government has set a target of creating 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh private sector jobs within five years. So far, appointment letters have been issued to around 1.25 lakh youths, while recruitment is currently underway for nearly 1.35 lakh posts. He added that the earlier recruitment calendar announcing 1 lakh jobs has now been expanded to 1.25 lakh recruitments in the state budget.
Several leaders, including the Civil Lines MLA and the state’s Health Minister, were also present on the stage alongside the Chief Minister.
He further said that the government is actively encouraging young people to start their own businesses. During the Rising Rajasthan Summit, investment agreements worth approximately ₹35 lakh crore were signed, out of which projects valued at around ₹8,000 crore have already begun implementation. To support entrepreneurship, the government is offering loans between ₹50 lakh and ₹1 crore, with the interest on these loans being covered by the government.
Emphasizing the importance of fitness, the Chief Minister said that regular running and exercise are essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He noted that healthy citizens can contribute more effectively to the development of the state. He also highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India Movement to motivate people across the country to adopt a fit and active way of life.
Rajasthan was officially formed on 30 March 1949 following the integration of several princely states. The then Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel played a key role in this historic unification. Since last year, the state government has begun celebrating Rajasthan Day on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, marking the start of the traditional Hindu calendar year.
