New Delhi: Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that Rahul Gandhi has become the most dangerous person for India’s security. He claimed that Gandhi is connected with anti-India forces and meets with Naxalites, extremists, and people like George Soros. Rijiju made these remarks in an interview with a news agency.
Rijiju further said that Rahul’s behavior in Parliament is childish and irresponsible. As a Leader of the Opposition, one is supposed to represent the entire opposition. Going outside Parliament to call people traitors, staging dramatic sit-ins, and waving around an unpublished book — all this is like the behavior of children. According to him, India has never seen a Leader of the Opposition act this way in its history.
He also added that the Congress party’s work seems limited to creating chaos in Parliament. Congress often claims that they are not allowed to speak, but as soon as Rahul enters, disruption, banners, and sloganeering begin.
Rijiju further said that even Rahul Gandhi’s supporters no longer take him seriously because he speaks without the truth. He stated that if the Prime Minister has met anyone or if there are any documents, they should be presented; otherwise, Gandhi is forcibly using the Prime Minister’s name without any basis. Rijiju also questioned Gandhi’s behavior in Parliament, saying that he speaks in the Lok Sabha without reason. “If you are the Leader of the Opposition, are you above the rules?” he asked.
Rijiju also claimed that around “15–20% of the left ecosystem” in India opposes nationalism and considers India’s defense, security, and religious identity as a problem. According to him, Rahul Gandhi is receiving support from this segment rather than the general public.
On the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rijiju said that the Speaker’s role is to conduct the proceedings of the House, advance government work, and give opposition MPs a chance to speak. He criticized the way opposition MPs entered the Speaker’s chamber and staged a protest. Rijiju praised Speaker Om Birla for showing restraint and calm, adding that if Somnath Chatterjee had been the Speaker, he might have suspended all of them.
