Lucknow : Smoke filled the helicopter of Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, while he was traveling from Lucknow to Kaushambi. He was scheduled to inaugurate the two-day Sars Mahotsav at Babu Singh Degree College ground, Sayara, an event aimed at promoting livelihoods in rural areas and women’s empowerment.
The helicopter took off from La Martiniere Ground (La Marts) in Lucknow. Just a few minutes after takeoff, a technical malfunction occurred. First, the helicopter’s display system went off, and then smoke suddenly started filling the cabin. The smoke spread so rapidly that the entire cabin was engulfed. The situation became extremely serious, but the pilot acted swiftly and carried out an emergency landing at Amausi Airport (Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport) in Lucknow.
