Alwar : Rajasthan Police’s Special Branch, in coordination with Jammu-based Military Intelligence (MI), has detained four suspected spies in Alwar for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistan in exchange for money.
According to preliminary information, the suspects allegedly provided details, photographs and videos related to the Army cantonment, railway station and the movement of Vande Bharat trains, along with other sensitive information.
Investigators have reportedly recovered suspicious chats and digital evidence, which are being examined to establish links within the alleged network.
The joint team detained Umesh Jatav, a resident of Jhopdi village, along with his three associates—Sanjay Jatav, Dhara Jatav and Akash Jatav—from the vicinity of the Eitarana Army Cantonment on Friday.
Umesh Jatav is being questioned at Udyog Nagar Police Station, while his three associates are being interrogated separately at another location.
Preliminary investigation reportedly suggests that Umesh allegedly lured his three associates with money and had funds transferred into their bank accounts. According to sources, one of his associates had reportedly warned him against betraying the country, but he allegedly refused to stop.
Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the alleged espionage network and identify any other individuals who may be involved.
