New Delhi : News Script:
Selected candidates from the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination 2021 have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court of India, challenging the decision of the Rajasthan High Court to cancel the recruitment. The candidates have submitted a Special Leave Petition (SLP), seeking to have the recruitment process reinstated.
In their plea, the selected Sub-Inspectors argued that the entire recruitment should not be scrapped. They have urged the court to allow candidates who were selected through legitimate means to retain their positions, while taking strict action against those involved in malpractice, including cheating and paper leaks.
The petition states that punishing all candidates for the wrongdoing of a few is unjust, and that the High Court’s decision has left their future uncertain.
The Rajasthan High Court’s single bench had cancelled the recruitment on 28 August 2025. This decision was later upheld by a division bench in April this year, reinforcing the cancellation order.
A hearing on the petition is expected in the second week of May at the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, candidates who were not selected in the 2021 recruitment have already filed a caveat through Advocate Harendra Neel. This ensures that the court will hear their side before passing any order in the matter.
