Jaipur: In a major administrative action, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has revoked the recognition of the Rajendra Nandu-led faction and imposed a six-year ban on Rajendra Nandu following allegations of serious financial irregularities, discrepancies in audit records, and misuse of subsidy funds worth several lakh rupees.
The action was taken after an internal RCA investigation reportedly uncovered significant inconsistencies in financial records, audit reports, utilization certificates, and other administrative documents submitted by the faction.
According to the association, the findings raised serious concerns regarding financial accountability and compliance with governance norms.
Funds Allegedly Received Despite Lack of Recognition
RCA’s investigation found that financial assistance and subsidy funds were allegedly received in the name of the Nagaur District Cricket Association during periods when the Rajendra Nandu faction was not recognized by the state cricket body.
The association claimed that in 2025, the faction received financial assistance linked to previous years, despite questions surrounding its official status and recognition.
Investigators reportedly found no satisfactory records, bills, vouchers, utilization certificates, or audit documentation explaining how the funds were spent.
Subsidies and Infrastructure Grants Under Scrutiny
According to RCA records, financial assistance released to the Nagaur District Cricket Association included:
- ₹6 lakh in subsidies for 2016-17 and 2017-18
- ₹9 lakh in subsidies for 2018-19 to 2020-21
- ₹14 lakh for infrastructure development
- Additional financial support for cricket equipment and related activities
RCA alleges that these funds were withdrawn in 2025 without adequate supporting documentation and proper financial disclosure.
Major Irregularities Found in Audit Reports
One of the most significant concerns highlighted during the investigation involved audit reports submitted between 2019 and 2025.
According to RCA, the reports did not contain the mandatory Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN), raising questions about their authenticity and validity.
The association further claimed that audit reports for the period between 2013 and 2016 were not made available to the investigation committee.
Several key financial records, including bank statements, vouchers, bills, and utilization certificates, were also allegedly missing.
Membership and Election Records Questioned
The investigation reportedly uncovered discrepancies in membership records, affiliated club details, election-related documents, and other administrative records.
RCA stated that several records submitted by the district association did not match the association’s official records.
The probe also found instances where documents presented before various authorities allegedly contained incomplete information or failed to disclose important facts.
Opportunity Given for Explanation
RCA said the concerned faction was provided with an opportunity to present its case and submit supporting documents before any action was taken.
However, the investigation committee reportedly found the explanations and evidence submitted to be unsatisfactory.
Based on the committee’s findings, the RCA General Body passed a resolution through circulation on May 15 to terminate the recognition of the Rajendra Nandu faction.
Six-Year Ban Imposed
In addition to withdrawing recognition, RCA has imposed a six-year ban on Rajendra Nandu.
Cricket administration experts view the decision as one of the most significant disciplinary actions taken by the association in recent years.
The association said the move reflects its commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, and financial discipline within cricket administration.
RCA Emphasizes Transparency and Accountability
RCA maintained that ensuring financial transparency in cricket institutions remains a top priority and warned that any form of irregularity would be dealt with strictly.
The association stated that the action serves as a message that governance standards and financial compliance are essential for the smooth functioning of cricket bodies across Rajasthan.
